You may choose not to provide information we request, however this may affect our ability to assist you.

  • assessing and progressing finance enquiries or applications;
  • verifying identity and meeting legal and regulatory obligations (including AML/CFT requirements where applicable);
  • conducting affordability and suitability checks where required;

4. Credit Checks and Credit Reporting

When you make an application or enquiry that requires assessment, we may use your information to request a credit-related search from a credit reporting agency such as Centrix for the purpose of assisting with assessment and verification.

WheelPay may conduct a finance quotation search where available, however lenders may require their own credit checks as part of their decision-making process. We cannot guarantee whether a lender’s credit checks will impact your credit profile.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your personal information with third parties where necessary to provide our services, including:

  • lenders and finance companies;
  • credit reporting agencies (e.g., Centrix);
  • identity verification providers;
  • insurers, service providers, and professional advisers;
  • government agencies and regulators where required by law; and
  • any other person or organisation you authorise.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Privacy Act Authorisation (Finance Applications)

If you apply for finance through us, you authorise WheelPay and/or a lender to collect, use, and exchange information about you for the purposes of:

  • processing and assessing your application;
  • assessing creditworthiness and affordability;
  • verifying identity and preventing fraud;
  • administering and enforcing any agreement that arises; and
  • ongoing account monitoring where applicable.

This may include contacting or obtaining information from credit reporting agencies, employers, landlords, banks, solicitors, accountants, government agencies, and other credit providers as relevant to your application.

You understand that:

  • we may provide your information to a credit reporting agency and they may hold and use it to provide credit reporting services;
  • credit reporting agencies may provide information they hold to other customers who use their services; and
  • if you default on obligations, information about that default may be provided to a credit reporting agency and disclosed to other customers.
